An unusual Armorial Barr, Flight &Barr saucer plate . Ex-Lord Flight. c1805

Description.

An excellent armorial-marked Barr, Flight and Barr saucer plate, decorated in an unusual pattern, once forming part of an armorial service (a teacup/saucer and coffee can in the same pattern being available separately) decorated with an unusual repeating pattern of green and gilt leaves interspersed with seaweed gilding. 

Incised 'B' mark to the teacup of the same pattern for period 1802-13. Each of the described pieces with stickers for the Lord and Lady Flight collection. 

We are, as we say, selling a coffee can and teacup and saucer, obviously part of the same service, in this same design.

Condition.

A star crack to the base of the plate, arriving from kiln stress. No other apparent defects.Wear commensurate with age and use

If the postage policy specifies that postage is included, we will send by tracked postage, rather than tracked and signed. If you wish for the latter, please let us know. There will be an additional charge which we will notify to you.

When we send by tracked alone the item will be at your risk from the point that we can prove, by means of showing a delivery confirmation, that it was delivered to your premises. Until that point, the item will be at our risk.

We are prepared to deliver all over the world, except (for obvious reasons, given the Russian state's unprovoked acts of aggression and terrorism in Ukraine) to Russia.

We aim to ensure that our descriptions are absolutely accurate. Nevertheless, antique porcelain is never perfect. We use high definition photography with the aim of making the condition of any item extremely clear. Defects which are obvious in the photography we use are deemed to have been declared, even if we do not specifically refer to them in the description. An example of such a defect would be crazing-but we do not regard fine crazing as being a defect. If crazing is a particular issue for you, please let us know and we will then report as to whether there is any.

Restoration is sometimes extremely difficult to detect. We use UV light and transmitted light to check whether restoration has occurred. Sometimes, even those methodologies do not reveal restoration. We also make mistakes and overlook things on occasion. If you are able, notwithstanding the description of tbe piece, to show that restoration (or other defects) of a significant nature has occurred, we would obviously allow cancellation of the sale, or an appropriate price deduction, in such circumstances. We will also refund your reasonable postage costs if the piece is to be returned.

Very occasionally, we have found, when sending items overseas , that customs open the package. If that happens, it seems that they do not always repack properly. We have had one occasion where a piece has been broken in such circumstances. On other occasions, the parcel arrives looking extremely messy. You will know if customs have opened the package, as we invariably double box pieces. We seal both boxes. If it is evident, when the piece arrives, that the seals of tape have been broken, either internally or externally, you can be sure that the package has been tampered with.
